OSHA 10 & 30 In Construction Training
- The general purpose of OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, is to issue and oversee regulations designed to minimize U.S. employees’ exposure to safety and health risks on the job. Work safety provisions that are specific to the construction industry may be found in Title 29, Part 1926, of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
- Responsibilities of Employers: Employers in the construction industry must train their workers to recognize job hazards and to implement safe work practices. The general duty clause of the Occupational Safety and Health Act requires employers, including those in the construction industry, to correct any hazard in the workplace, even if the OSHA regulations do not specifically address the danger. In addition, employers must post or make available all OSHA safety regulations as directed by the U.S. Department of Labor.
